BAD NEWS.....

Yesterday we were just watching TV when the phone rang and it was Toni Hart.  I haven't talked to her in a coon's age so I was excited, but...she was crying.  Not a good sign.
Between tears she related that her eldest daughter (Kristy) the one who has fought cancer twice and beat it, now has had some type of chest ailment and in the process of a coughing fit...for lack of a better way of putting it, must have dislodged a blood clot from her lungs and it went to her brain.  12 hours later they pronounced her brain dead.
Through a thunderstorm of tears I got that they are giving Kristy 48 hours, (standard operating procedure I guess) and then they will take her off life support.
Poor Toni has had so many troubling problems with her children, and now this.
It just makes me doubly thankful for all of your health and that of your families, especially at this time of year.  May the Lord bless our little family and keep us close forever is my Christmas wish to you all.  Much Love,  a tearful Mom...and to Toni and her family...our deepest sympathy.

FINALLY, Cookie Day!!!

Finally I had some time to get into the kitchen.  Not long, but enough to make a big mess and set about 4 dozen cut-outs.  Of course they have barely made it into the container.  So I'll have to haul everything back out while Dad is gone this week (and I've pretty much had my fill).  I wanted to make enough to share and so far that hasn't happened!
Notice the little Schnauzer cut outs...they are so cute!

Dad's Sidekick

Dad certainly isn't alone these days.  He has officially deemed the cat "Garfield," however trite.  But the darned thing does hover about him all day.  They talk as he scans the e-mails and listens during his phone calls.  Funny enough, she sits right where you see her whenever Dad is in the office.  Sometimes she'll migrate to the couch for a quick nap, or disappear upstairs for awhile, but she is very aware of what goes on in there!

SNOWY SUNDAY

Dad is suffering with a little cold so we came home from services a little early today.
He has the chills and a runny nose, but otherwise isn't too bad. But so many are sick just
now and he doesn't want to get worse. It seems the chapel was one big "cough" session today.
Many have had the flu, both the stomach and intestinal types...so we rarely shake hands and
don't linger and talk to too many just now.
But the snow started again as we were leavin and by the time we got home the flakes
were huge and very beautiful. I just wanted to share them. I know that they don't show up well, but I wanted to try.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

AUSTRALIA!!!!

WE WENT TO THE MOVIES!!! We saw "Australia"
and we REALLY liked it. Both Dad and I had our favorite parts:
Dad the cowboy chase scenes and I especially enjoyed Hugh Jackman's
scenes that featured a shirtless look!!
The movie was very well received by everyone we have talked to
about it. There was ONE swearword...my favorite...but it was aptly
used and I let it go. The kissing scenes are pretty good...Hugh's wife was
interviewed as to how she saw them as he rarely does anything like this.
She answered...I thought the 1st one was pretty darn good and I leaned
over at the premier and told him so...but by the fifth and sixth one...I said
..."Enough already!!"
Good show...A-

AB FAB DESSERTS

Everything was so good...and I suppose this post should have been at the end...But!!!
Suzy's caramel cheesecake was the belle of the ball, along with Peg's mom's apple pies and many, many other wonderful dishes. We all THANK YOU... Jeff and Peg for the generosity and the love they lavish on us all...all year long!

THE JASON MEYER FAMILY

Jason & Rebecca, Riley (the older one) and Logan.

THE JON MEYER FAMILY

Jon & Tiffany, and James H. Meyer

New Pictures & Updates

These are shots of Jason and Jon's families and their kids. I think everyone, kids included had a really good time. There were about 33 people in total. Peg had her cousins and their families, too, so that really made a big group. But a HUGE turkey and groaning tables full of side dishes did the trick and everyone was plump and sleepy afterwards.

Thanksgiving at Uncle Jeff's

Once again we traveled south and stayed with Grandma Marge.
The sky was a brilliant blue while we skipped over to Jeff's house
on Thursday but it quickly became overcast and threatened snow
all day, but nothing arrived...thankfully.
