ANOTHER DAY...ANOTHER KLEENEX!

WELL IT"S AUTUMN AGAIN!!
One can nearly set your fall clock by my sinuses. But this year it isn't entirely their fault.

I had to have an errant tooth pulled, one that I've been babying for over five years (I even had it tended to out at Josh & Kristene's once). When the little darling decided to throw a hissy fit and get absessed this past week I finally decided the relationship was going nowhere. Dad was home then still and he encouraged me to get it extracted while he was around to handle any mishaps.

I was fine when he left two days later.

Then, as he drove away my sinuses erupted under the pressure of the additional garbage my head had produced. It was only a matter of hours and I was down on the couch. That didn't make much difference because it is my bed right now anyhow!

Poor Jenn and Taylor are virtually stuck here because of their car debauchal (Hitting the deer and the ensuing fix-it mess) Anyhow, nearly 2 weeks later, they are crossing their fingers and toes that they will be able to pick up the Jeep tomorrow and get it packed up. Hopefully, barring any further complications, they will be able to set off early Tuesday morning.

They had to call various people and beg extra sick days, vacation days and borrowed days to extend their time off. Poor Jenn is climbing the wall, as her school makes HER pay for subs after all that stuff is used up! Taylor is just plain up a creek without a paddle. I really feeling bad for their dilemma. Taylor wants to rocket back over the Colorado Rockies (on I-76) to cut time, so everybody pray for their having excellent weather and a quick trip back.

I am much better, but still hacking about. Sorry that I'm such a sickly old stick.... just don't make plans for me in the fall...please. ps...send kleenex and nyquil donations at will!

JUST A NEW POST....
I have lost the cord to my camera. So....this is what I'll have to put up with for a few days.

Taylor and Jenn & little Adam have been here for nearly a week. Taylor and Dad hit a deer about twenty miles from here on their way in last Saturday night. That has royally screwed things on their itinerary up.
Then....the Packers lost.
Then....the weather has turned frosty.
Then...it SNOWED!!! Just a dusting, but it was snow.

So, Wayne leaves Monday morning to head back to Utah to continue with his lecture series. He did fantastically well the first time out, so hopefully this second part will follow suit. The pups and I are all set to go it alone until Halloween.
Taylor and Jenn will be heading out as soon as their Jeep is once again roadworthy. That should be by Wednesday. I will miss them, but they both need to get back to work on the 2oth.

I miss you all. Thank you so much for posting as much as you do. I really appreciate all your news. I realize that phone calls are just too much in everyone's hectic schedules, so this is wonderful. Give the kids ALL BIG HUGS from me!

Daphne is the next one with a BIG DAY coming! She will be baptized in November. Keep us posted on that. It seems like all the kids are getting so big all at once. Dad and I are so pleased that everyone of them has done so well in their classes and stay so healthy.

I am off to Ali's as soon as the doctor says she's good to go. I suspect that will be on or before Thanksgiving. We'll know soon if there is a C-section in her future and perhaps they'll start zeroing in on a closer date.

Happy Autumn to one and ALL!!!

BEFORE....

This was taken on Wednesday evening as we settled in after
supper and before Taylor went off to work. Jen was uncomfortable
but that was all.

Summer & Grandkids

Liz & Keegan, Millie & Luke, Emry and Carley all came in July to
see Grandma! We had a wonderful visit. They played in the
sprinkler and made mud pies, took care of the puppy and generally
made their Grandma very happy! Thank you Moms for making
the effort to travel all across the continent without your husbands
just for us to be able to spend a few precious days together.

Garden Beauties

Everything is going bonkers at the moment! I love it.

While the Cat's Away!!

Well!! It does look a lot better this way, trust me.
The red just never laid on the finish right and you could see brush marks, etc. So this is very much better.

Water, water, water, water...

Eat you Heart out Radishes!!!

A Few Garden Pics

Again, it has been dry, dry , dry!! So things aren't as lush as they should be this time of year.
But we'll keep them alive and hope for better weather next year.

Dad's Potatoes

Plus lots of weeds that I need to get to in the next few days. I was trying to wait for rain to help loosen the soil but....we are about 7" down in the rain department with none in sight.

HELLO EVERYONE!!

Well here it is! Her coloring is pretty dark but there is a shot here that shows
that her outer coat is coming in pretty silvery about the shoulders. We have been calling her "Bobbie"...not very original but the vet thought it was appropriate.

The Puppy Previews

Well here she is!  As you can see, she is quite dark.  I can already tell that there is some lightening on her back and legs, but the face seems to be nearly all black!  we'll keep an eye on her progress for you all.  What do you think?  Bobbie...Roberta...Berta...or just Bert?

Well...well...well...

THE CULPRIT!!
Here she is, looking guilty as ever.  Everything is just fine.  She's fine, the pup is fine...just my nerves are a bit frayed.

This is where I'll be all weekend. Plastered into the pages of these books!

This is the intended spot for the project...right in front of the place!
The dog will have to move.

A SPRING PROJECT IN THE WORKS

     Halle....lulululu..yeh!

For the past several hours it is spring again!  We have to hurry with it though as another bout of winter is due to return Monday evening!  So lets get the show on the road, right?

I have picked a new spot to place about 6 to 9 wooden raised garden beds and help define the front of our place look a little better.  It was actually Dad's idea!! so kudos to him!!

So while he is gone this next week...off to Idaho...I shall be busily wearing out the pages of my new garden catalogs.  FUN!  I'll mark off all the do-dads that I want and he'll pare it down to what we can afford later.  The nursery isn't even open yet, so we have a few weeks before we can make the big purchase.

But we have a maze of PVC piping to install for the watering system and to actually MAKE
the wooden boxes...then order the dirt...you see my dilemma.  Even is we get the monster into place before the leaves change color again I'll be pleased!  Wish us luck!!!   and good supply of Neosporin for our blisters...and a new heating pad for my back...

AFTER!!!! What a Change

WOW! I CAME BACK TO THE GROOMER'S AND JUST ABOUT FELL OVER!
THE WOMAN WAS A MAGICIAN....SHE ACTUALLY FOUND ENOUGH HAIR THAT WAS SALVAGABLE TO MAKE HER LOOK REALLY GOOD.

WHAT DO YOU THINK NOW?
AND THE NAME ISSUE IS GETTING HARDER!

WELL, WHAT DO YA THINK?

SCHNAUZERS SEEM TO BE FALLING FROM THE SKY THESE DAYS!
THIS LITTLE SWEETIE USED TO BELONG TO ONE OF ROXI'S NEIGHBORS. TO MAKE A LONG STORY VERY SHORT, THE COUPLE IS DIVORCING AND THE DOG HAS BASICALLY LOST HER FAMILY.

SO ALONG COMES KRIS...INNOCENTLY VISITING HER GRANDKIDS...AND POW!
I'VE BECOME A DOGNAPPER! THE WOMAN BEGGED ROXI TO TAKE THE DOG LAST WEEK AND THIS WEEK SHE WAS BASICALLY ABANDONED. THAT IS UNTIL I DROVE IN THE DRIVEWAY.

THE POOR LITTLE THING RAN RIGHT TO ME...BAD SIGN...AND NEARLY CLIMBED MY LEG TO GET INTO MY ARMS. NOT A BARK, OR A WHIMPER, JUST FAMISHED FOR LOVE. WELL, THE OLD HEART MELTED AND SHE WAS IN THE VAN, CAGE, PAPERS AND ABOUT 20# OF FOOD BEFORE WE COULD SAY ''BOO''.

LOOK AT HER PICS AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK. THESE ARE HER ''BEFORE''
PICS. SHE GOES TO THE GROOMER TOMORROW AM. SHE IS SO TERRIBLY MATTED THAT SHE ACTUALLY HAS SORES UNDER THEM AGAINST HER SKIN. AND... WITH HER ONE EAR UP AND THE OTHER DOWN, SHE LOOKS LIKE A PIRATE!

BUT A MORE LOVING ANIMAL WE'VE NEVER HAD. SHE HAS A PRETTY GOOD CASE OF SEPARATION ANXIETY GOING ON RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF THE WOMAN'S ABRUPT DEPARTURE...HER MAMA LEFT HER FLAT. AND THE HUSBAND DOESN'T LIKE LITTLE DOGS...SO OUT SHE WENT INTO THE YARD TO VIRTUALLY BECOME COYOTE HOT LUNCH. SHE ISN'T PERFECT, AND I DOUBT THAT WE WOULD EVER BREED HER BECAUSE OF THE EAR DEFECT. ALSO HER NOSE (MUZZLE) IS A TAD SHORT AND HER MOUSTACHE ISN'T VERY FULL. SHE IS DARKER THAN BOB, BUT I WON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT SHE LOOKS LIKE UNTIL WE PICK HER UP TOMORROW FROM THE GROOMER.

NOW...DON'T FREAK OUT AT THE NEXT POSTING...OF THE ''AFTER'' SHOT BECAUSE I'M SURE THE LADY WILL SHAVE HER DOWN TO NEARLY BARE SKIN...SHE'LL PROBABLY RESEMBLE A CHINESE CRESTED RATHER THAN A SCHNAUZER! BUT I'M LOOKING FOR NAME SUGGESTIONS. SHE WILL BE 2 YEARS OLD LATE IN APRIL...HER FAMILY CALLED HER ''SCARLETT''...A MORE INAPPROPRIATE NAME FOR A SCHNAUZER I'D BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND...SO LET'S GET HER NEW CUTE ONE...OK??

I'M THINKING OF ""LULU", "SCOOTER", "BEAZER", JUST TO NAME A FEW..NOTHING SEEMS TO FIT QUITE YET SO HELP ME OUT. "VIVIAN" AND "HORTENSE" HAVE ALSO BEEN SUGGESTED.

AND BY THE WAY...I DID ASK BOB AND DAD AND THEY BOTH SAID OK!! I JUST HOPE THAT BOB REMEBERS.

COOL SHOTS FROM OUR TRIP

DAD TOOK THESE SHOTS AS WE DROVE ALONG
LAST MONTH.  THEY WERE ON THE WAY HOME AND IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL
NIGHT!

FIRST WE CAUGHT THE SUNSET

THEN THERE WAS THE MOON RISING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAR!

THE MOON WAS ABSOLUTELY FULL THAT NIGHT.  IT JUST HAPPENED TO
BE OUR ANNIVERSARY!!  BY THE TIME WE MADE IT HOME ABOUT 11:00PM
THE MOON WAS THE BIGGEST WE HAD EVER SEEN!  THERE WAS ALSO
A GIGANTIC HALO AROUND IT...WHICH DID NOT PHOTOGRAPH BECAUSE
IT WAS SO VERY LARGE.   BEAUTIFUL NIGHT!!

ON THE ROAD...

THIS WAS BOB'S PERCH ON OR TRIP.
DOESN'T HE LOOK COMFY?

ANYHOW...WE ARE MISSING DAD AND WISH WE
WERE BACK ON THE ROAD WITH HIM!

WE GO TO GRANDMA'S TOMORROW SO HE'LL
BE ABLE TO PLAY WITH ELLA...OR VISA VERSA!
